Zack Abbott grew up in Sacramento, CA and holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, where he double-majored in immunology and classical art & archaeology.  He has a PhD in microbiology & immunology from the University of Michigan, and then worked in clinical trial design before co-founding ZBiotics.
