Shahar Yoav has 18 years of experience in recombinant proteins and synthetic biology, specializing in fermentation, protein purification, and process optimization. He currently serves as Principal Scientist and Head of Technology at YDLabs, a fermentation pilot facility in Israel focused on the Food-tech and Agri-tech sectors. In this role, Shahar leads tech transfer, fermentation optimization, and scale-up processes to produce recombinant proteins in a cost-effective manner. Before joining YDLabs, Shahar was a senior scientist in the diagnostics industry, where he led R&D and scale-up processes for novel recombinant proteins and enzymes used in diagnostic assays. He has also worked as a project manager in the cleantech industry, designing up-stream and downstream processes for cost-effective enzyme production.
