Marc Salit’s work has focused on tool development and measurement science in chemistry, physics, and biology. He has been working since 2010 to create standards in synthetic biology with the goal of opening the field to all. His focus as a MITRE Fellow is to bring MITRE’s “Systems Engineering DNA” to synthetic biology by engineering the synthetic biology workflow so we can work together in a global network. This “BioNet” could catalyze the field and increase resiliency, foster innovation, democratize access, and stimulate contributions from diverse organizations across the ecosystem.
