Georgia Lagoudas recently served as the Senior Advisor for Biotechnology and Bioeconomy at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She supported the drafting and led the implementation of the Bioeconomy Executive Order signed by President Biden in September 2022. Georgia previously served as an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the Department of State working on international biosecurity policy, as well as a Congressional Fellow in the U.S. Senate. She led the drafting and introduction of three bills, one of which became law in the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 (the Bioeconomy Research & Development Act). Georgia worked as a scientist in the DSM Innovation Center in Boston, MA and received her PhD in Biological Engineering from MIT.
