Amanda Kohler, Ph.D., is first and foremost a lover of proteins. She’s a structural biologist turned protein engineer who has over 15 years of experience working on a wide range of proteins and applications, from biofuel production through to cancer therapeutics. Amanda is the Founder and Principal Consultant at Tyrala Consulting LLC where she helps companies build and improve the proteins that drive their technologies, often serving as their in-house protein expert. She supports diverse teams from around the globe, connecting them with the resources and technical expertise they need to realize their goals. Through this work, Amanda has seen firsthand the need for improved accessibility to the critical instrumentation and know-how required for broader application of synthetic biology solutions to real world problems, and she joined the BioNet team in early 2024 to support them in this mission. Amanda earned her Ph.D. at Rockefeller University and previously held scientist positions of increasing responsibility at Plexxikon Inc. and CytomX Therapeutics Inc., and most recently was the Associate Director of Protein Engineering at Earli Inc.
