Imagine what more than 250 iGEM teams can do with 5Mb of DNA!

IDT is partnering with iGEM to make synthetic biology more accessible by offering 20kb of custom DNA free of charge to each team competing in the iGEM 2015 competition season. This remarkable opportunity allows iGEM teams to make advancements in synthetic biology using gBlocks® Gene Fragments. With this offer, teams can focus on project design and characterization instead of assembly. To learn more, visit 2015.igem.org

More on iGEM and IDT:

iGEM, the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition , is a non-profit organization and a community of over 18,000 young scientists and leaders in synthetic biology. Our goal is to inspire learning and innovation in synthetic biology through team competition (for both university and high school students). Our main event, the Giant Jamboree, is the culminating event of the annual iGEM competition. This 5-day event (held on September 24-28, 2015 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston , MA) showcases synthetic biology achievements of both collegiate and high school participating teams spanning all disciplines, backgrounds and interests.Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) is a leader in development and manufacturing of products for research and diagnostic life science markets. The world’s largest supplier of custom nucleic acids, IDT serves academic research, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical development communities with products that support applications including: next generation sequencing (NGS), gene amplification, SNP detection, expression profiling, gene quantification, and synthetic biology. Platform-independent NGS products (xGen® Lockdown®Probesfor improved target capture, custom adaptors, fusion primers, Molecular Identifier tags—MIDs) are available in addition to DNA and RNA oligonucleotides, qPCR assays, siRNA duplexes, gBlocks® Gene Fragments for gene construction, and custom gene synthesis.
