Senior Scientist I/II, Protein Testing

We are seeking a Senior Scientist I/II experienced in assay development to test protein and enzyme performance for industrial enzyme applications. You will bring expert-level knowledge of biochemical, biophysical, and analytical techniques to evaluate proteins, along with demonstrated proficiency in lab experiment design, analysis, and interpretation. Utilizing your expertise to drive scientific innovation, you will excel in communicating complex analysis findings to multiple stakeholders at all levels within the organization and with external partners. You thrive on hands-on technical work, leading, mentoring, and training others, making a significant impact within the company, and exploring potential business opportunities through generating innovative project ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, and execute experiments to evaluate enzyme designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals on time, including assay development, method development, protein purification, and testing.
  • Communicate work effectively to project teams and external parties.
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new developments and train Associate Scientists.
  • Contribute to platform development activities, including improvements and planning for new projects.
  • Create efficiencies and reduce variability by deploying liquid handling automation in assay execution work.

Qualifications:

  • PhD and 4-10+ years industry experience.
  • 4+ years of experience developing biochemical, biophysical, and analytical techniques to evaluate proteins, and assay development to test enzyme performance for industrial enzyme applications.
  • Expert in lab experiment design, analysis, and interpretation, including the application of statistics, preferably experience in using Python or other advanced statistical software.
  • Proven track record of delivering insights that drive scientific innovation.
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis findings to multiple stakeholders of all levels.
  • Experienced in using Automation or interest in using Automation to make laboratory experiments more efficient and to reduce variability.

Arzeda compensation and benefits include:

  • Comprehensive compensation package, to include equity
  • Base salary range $125K - $165K depending on experience
