BioMADE is now hiring a Chief Strategy & Bioeconomic Development Officer (CSBO) to be responsible for creating, communicating, executing, and sustaining BioMADE’s strategic initiatives to advance the U.S. bioeconomy. This leader is responsible for understanding and developing BioMADE’s strategic priorities and affecting positive change across the domestic and global bioindustrial economy. In collaboration with the leadership team, this individual focuses on the long game by driving the development and implementation of strategic plans to ensure that BioMADE activities align with long-term goals.
As a highly visible member of BioMADE’s leadership, a key part of this role is to identify, prioritize, and oversee the development of partnerships with public and private sector stakeholders. Serving as the leader of BioMADE’s Strategy and Bioeconomic Development Unit, the CSBO will initiate the development of strategic business partnerships to advance BioMADE programs, infrastructure, and other initiatives, foster BioMADE member engagement and growth, and actively engage with U.S. and global stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and regularly update short- and long-term strategic plans in close collaboration with the CEO and other members of the leadership team.
- Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives and execution of strategic plans, including effectively communicating strategic objectives to individuals throughout the organization, aligning BioMADE activities to meet strategic objectives, and evaluating BioMADE progress toward achieving strategic objectives
- Identify and reduce strategic risks
- Build and maintain broad-based relationships with public and private sector stakeholders, including BioMADE members and policymakers.
- Identify partnership opportunities, including business development opportunities
- Oversee the management of existing and development of new strategic partnerships, including member relationships
- Identify opportunities for BioMADE to contribute to roadmaps and plans to advance the bioeconomy and biomanufacturing sector at U.S. state, federal, and global levels
- Represent BioMADE at public fora in the U.S and internationally.
- Develop and own BioMADE’s international engagement strategy
- Oversee BioMADE’s government affairs efforts
- Act as a key advisor to the CEO & Leadership Team on the U.S. and global bioeconomy
- Other duties as assigned
