Curt Becker

Curt Becker – Co-Founder

Molecular Assemblies

After leaving the Caruthers Lab at CU Boulder where the phosphoramidite DNA synthesis process was invented, Curt joined the founding team at Applied Biosystems and played a key role in commercialization of the first DNA synthesis generation. This commercialization largely contributed to the launch of Applied Biosystems on a trajectory to becoming a Fortune 1000 company. Curt participated in the development and commercialization of a number of groundbreaking technologies, for instance various generations of DNA sequencing and QPCR.  His wide-ranging experiences include product development, product management, sales, and sales management. His customer focus led him to create the roles of product specialist, applications manager and customer support manager at Applied Biosystems. He has held global P&L responsibilities, lived overseas and has managed international groups. His business administration management experience has included groups as large as 175 personnel spread across North America and budgets of $23 M.
Presently, Curt has reunited with his former DNA synthesis colleague and fellow ABI founder, Bill Efcavitch, PhD to form Molecular Assemblies and enable a new era of biotechnology through next generation DNA synthesis.
