Vice President of Business Development – Pharmaceuticals, Gingko Bioworks (Boston, MA)

Our mission is to make biology easier to engineer.  Ginkgo is constructing, editing, and redesigning the living world in order to answer the globe’s growing challenges in health, energy, food, materials, and more.  Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms.  Today, our foundry is developing over 40 different organisms to make different products across multiple industries.

As the Senior Director of Business Development – Pharmaceuticals, you will leverage your knowledge of both the pharma industry and the capabilities of the Ginkgo foundry to lead the development and execution of Ginkgo’s strategy in the pharma space. You will build a BD pipeline with potential partnering prospects, understand industry needs and opportunities, and ultimately identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships that leverage the unique capabilities of the foundry. You will utilize various BD opportunities, such as speaking engagements at industry conferences and writing white papers and articles for industry/trade publications (with support from the technical team), to educate potential partners about how Ginkgo can benefit the industry.

You are excited about the idea of bringing a new platform to the pharmaceutical industry. You have a strong technical background and a robust network with excellent relationships in the pharmaceuticals industry. You welcome the chance to be a pioneer in the rapidly-growing field of synthetic biology.

If this describes you well and you feel up to the challenge, please apply!
