Mammoth is seeking a Scientist with expertise in protein biochemistry. The ideal candidate will have direct experience studying newly-discovered CRISPR systems and their applications. A strong background RNA biochemistry and protein engineering is a plus. Further, the ideal candidate will be comfortable leading and managing others, including prioritizing time, agendas, and projects to accomplish goals.

Initiate, direct, and perform experiments to advance the application of newly-discovered CRISPR systems
Develop high-throughput biochemical experiments
Optimize components to enhance CRISPR function
Stay current in the field by participating in educational opportunities and reading relevant publications
Think creatively about the biochemistry of genome editing technologies

Ph.D. in relevant field with 3+ years relevant research experience
Experience with high throughput biochemical and bacterial screens
Background in protein biochemistry and/or nucleic acid biochemistry
Exceptional communication, presentation, and data analysis
Excited about working in a diverse and collaborative team

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with directed evolution and rational design based protein engineering projects
High throughput screening of nucleases
Experience with NGS
Liquid handling automation experience
