Microbiology Associate Scientist(BS/MS): P&G, Cincinnati, Ohio

P&G is a leading consumer products company with many iconic brands across multiple sectors, including Tide detergent, Olay beauty products, Bounty paper towels and Pampers diapers. Our products touch the lives of over 4 billion people across the globe and we are continuously seeking to create new irresistibly superior products to improve lives now and for generations to come. Technical advances predominantly in chemistry have led to many of our breakthrough products throughout the 20th century. While this will continue to hold true going forward, we anticipate that new interdisciplinary approaches to solving unmet consumer needs will increasingly harness biological principles to drive innovation (e.g. machine learning, sensors, microbiome, synthetic biology).

We are seeking a thoughtful and passionate associate scientist to join our up-stream innovation R&D organization, the Life Sciences Transformative Platform Technology group; someone with the desire and experience to help us harness and control the microbes within us, on us and around us (i.e. our human and environmental microbiomes) to develop new consumer-focused and business-driven breakthrough technologies and products.

Successful candidates for this position will have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree and previously demonstrated laboratory experience in one or more of the following scientific fields: microbiology; biochemistry; molecular biology; synthetic biology; chemical and biological engineering; or related education and experience. Most importantly, candidates will have a proven desire to embrace challenging problems and a track record of applying strong technical rigor to develop potential transformative solutions.

This is very much a hands-on role, requiring excellent laboratory skills, diligent time management, strong observational skills and an ability to quickly learn, adapt, and execute complex experiments. Those candidates with a pragmatic understanding of what’s needed in the present, as well as creative enthusiasm for what’s possible in the future will find the opportunities of working in our organization most fulfilling.
