Octarine is a synthetic biology company based in Copenhagen Denmark producing functionally superior cannabinoids using engineered microbes. We have developed in-cell enzymatic platforms capable of making precise, stereospecific, and functionally relevant modifications to cannabinoid molecules to enhance their therapeutic and pharmacokinetic activity, expanding the chemical diversity of cannabinoid molecules beyond what is available in nature in ways that are impossible or infeasible to achieve using chemical synthesis.
We’re looking for a DSP chemist to separate and purify our novel cannabinoid molecules from complex reaction mixtures. You will be tasked with handling reaction mixtures from a variety of sources (e.g. fermentation, small-scale, in vitro enzyme assays) and implementing purification procedures to isolate the molecule of interest for further analysis. Furthermore you will be tasked with implementing a cost-effective DSP procedure suitable for large-scale purification of molecules from e.g. fermentation broth.
Ideally you will have experience in the following;
– Purification of small-molecules from complex reaction mixtures
– Experience in a range of separation techniques e.g. column separation and preparative HPLC
– Experience handling and processing fermentation broth
– DSP scale-up procedures
Candidates should ideally have a PhD in DSP or a related field or equivalent industrial experience.
