AMSilk Co-Founder Thomas Scheibel Named Finalist for European Inventor Award

Munich, May 3, 2018 – AMSilk GmbH, the world’s first industrial supplier of synthetic silk biopolymers, is proud to announce that its co-founder, Prof. Thomas Scheibel, has been named a finalist in the SME Sector of the European Patent Office’s 2018 "European Inventor Award" for his pioneering work to produce synthetic spider silk biopolymers.To commercialize Prof. Scheibel’s science, in 2008 AMSilk was founded in Munich. AMSilk has been producing biopolymers on a large industrial scale since 2014 and has raised a double-digit million Euro in venture capital.
